Gentle + Energizing
This gentle flow invites you to move slowly and intentionally through a series of postures that support body awareness and presence. While there’s no specific set of poses that defines "morning yoga," practicing in the morning can help energize the body and set a grounded tone for the day.
In this class, we explore postures that gently open the front body, such as heart openers and backbends. These movements help counter the body's natural response to stress, which often shows up as tension or a tendency to curl inward. They also help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging a shift into a more restful and balanced state.
Morning stiffness, especially in the shoulders, neck, and upper back, is common after a night’s sleep. This sequence includes mindful movements to ease those areas, helping to release tension and improve mobility. By creating space across the chest and gently awakening the spine, we also support deeper breathing. Increased oxygen intake enhances circulation, which can naturally energize the body.
From a yogic perspective, heart-opening postures are thought to support the Anahata (heart) chakra, encouraging emotional openness and a deeper sense of connection to yourself and others. Enjoy!
